Lee County APA - Southern Shindig

The Lee County APA is excited to announce we have been awarded a team slot in the APA Southern Shindig. This is a Team Captain style tournament that takes place annually at Zingales Billiards & Sports Bar in Tallahassee, FL. Teams will be competing for a CASH PRIZE against teams from all over the Southeast Region!

The tournament takes place January 18-19th, and we are holding a qualifier tournament to see who gets the trip! See all the details below about building a team for this event.

All players listed below have been verified. They all have 20 matches played and skill levels checked. If there is any movement from scores that have not been put in, they will be reflected during the tournament.

Entry Requirements

Entry Fee is $100 per team ($40 per player).
Teams can have up to 5 players on a roster.
Teams may choose any 3 of the 5 team members to participate in each match, however the total of the skill levels of the 3 fielded players cannot exceed 15.
A players highest skill level between formats (8-Ball & 9-Ball will be used towards the 15 rule.
Exception - skill level 8/9's will count as 7's in this tournament
Only one players of skill level 6 or higher may play in any given match.
Each team is limited to one coaching time-out per game.
Players must be on an active Lee County APA roster

Game rules

Alternate between 8-Ball & 9-Ball racks, starting with 8-Ball
Each individual rack is worth one team point
Team Captains will flip a coin to decide who must declare their three players for the match first. Winner of the flip has the choice of declaring first or having the other Team Captain choose first.
The players are listed in ascending order (lowest to highest). That list determines the player rotation, and is locked for the match. Once both teams in a match have declared their players, the players cannot be changed unless the combined skill levels of the three players declared by a team exceed the max permitted combined skill level (15), in which case the team will be allowed to declare a different player prior to the first rack being struck.
Players of the same skill level may be placed in order of preference.
Players lag to see who winds the first break.
Once the first two players have completed their rack of 8-Ball the second two players in the rotation will play a rack of 9-Ball. Upon that rack's completion, the next two players win the rotation will play a rack of 8-Ball. Once set the player rotation continues until a team reaches the required number of points necessary to win the match.
The winning team breaks with the next player in the rotation after each rack.
It is a loss of game to shoot out of rotation. Although it is sportsmanlike for the non-offending team to remind the other team they are about to play a player out of rotation. In that circumstance, the team must tell them the truth, and the correct player in the rotation will assume their rightful spot in the game. Once the offending team has taken a shot out of rotation the infraction has occurred, the game is over, and the sitting team will receive one point for the rack. Both teams will then move to the next game in the match, with players in the correct rotation. However if the game is completed without the non-offending team calling the infraction, and the next rack is broken, the results of the previous rack will stand, and the team that shot out of rotation will assume the new rotation for the remainder of the match.

Must be active on a Lee County APA roster
Must have 20 8-Ball or 9-Ball scores within the last 2 years. You cannot combine formats to equal 20 scores
No roster changes or refunds after January 4th

Players may only participate on 1 team
Players must be from the same league area
Rosters must be submitted by Jan 4th, 2025

Prize payout depends on number of entries (48 max)
$250 entry fee includes $210 entry + $40 admin fee
100% of entry fees goes to top 25% of the field
