Starting in the Summer Session of 2024, we will be standardizing our playoff structure to mimic the rest of the APA and CPA and switch over to a "Tri-Cup" playoff system for all our 8-Ball teams. We understand this is new and maybe a little confusing for the players that are used to the way we qualified teams in the past, but fear not. Its not as bad as it sounds, and this is the place to get the full explanation.
Regular sessions will consist of 16 weeks*, and 1 week of playoffs. Each division will qualify the following:
1st Place Automatically Qualifies for Tri-Cup's
2nd Place vs. Wildcard
3rd Place vs. 4th Place
The Winners of the division and the two playoff matches will advance to that session's Tri-Cup's.
*Session length may vary depending on holidays, league events, weather and off weeks.
**Divisions of 5 or less will qualify 1st Place and a Wildcard for playoffs
**Divisions of 12 or more will also qualify 2nd Place for Tri-Cups and 5th place for playoffs.

Regular sessions will consist of 15 weeks*, and 2 weeks of playoffs. Each division will qualify the following:
1st Place Automatically Qualifies for World Qualifiers's
2nd Place vs. Wildcard
3rd Place vs. 4th Place
The winners of the week 1 playoff matches will play week 2 against each other, and the winner will advance to the World Qualifier.
*Divisions of 5 or less will qualify 1st Place and a Wildcard for playoffs
**Divisions of 13 or more will also qualify 2nd Place for the World Qualifier and 5th place for playoffs.
See bylaws for details
Tri-Cup's will be held after each session. They will consist of all the qualified teams, league wide from their respective session. They will be a quick, single elimination tournament that will qualify teams to play in the World Qualifier.
We will qualify 5 teams from the Summer and Fall sessions, and 6 teams from the Spring session*. Teams that qualify more than once will receive a bye (if available) in the World Qualifier Tournament.
Tri-Cup's are used to limit the size of the World Qualifier. These are essentially replacing the first round of the World Qualifier to make it a more manageable tournament.
*Team counts subject to change based on size of the division
The World Qualifier is our "Super Bowl". It is held once a year, and will consist of all the teams that won their Tri-Cup Tournaments. It will be a Single Modified Tournament, so you are guaranteed to play twice. We will have an 8 team tournament for each entry into the World Championship. Currently the Lee County APA receives two 8-Ball entries and one 9-Ball entry into the World Championship.
The Southeast Challenge is a tournament held once a year for all the "runner up" teams from the World Qualifier Tournament. We currently send two 8-Ball teams, and one 9-Ball team to compete in the tournament, and it is a blast!
It is a regional event, held in Jacksonville, FL. You will get to compete with teams from the Carolina's, Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.
Believe it or not, after all of this, there are still ways you can qualify to win trips, and entries into many other tournaments. You can enter into "Single's Regional Qualifiers" to compete in the Regional tournament. This is not a team event, but a single's tournament for you to win a trip to Las Vegas for only $20!!! Learn more here.
We also hold many "Scotch Double's" Tournaments throughout the year, in 8-Ball and 9-Ball and even a Jack-and-Jill 8-Ball. The winners of these tournaments can win trips to Las Vegas to play in the National Poolplayer Championship Tournaments. You can find details and dates on our calendar.
